The Metaverse Academy project, which will help youth become proficient in future technologies, is being promoted by BEBKA. Twelve partners in all, including South Africa and seven EU nations, are involved in the project. Within the project’s parameters, a free online platform with 19 training courses on technology and entrepreneurship will be created.
In today’s world, where the importance of augmented, virtual, and mixed reality (AR/VR/XR) technologies is increasing in various fields such as health, education, and production, it is observed that human life is also evolving towards a digital-focused environment. This transformation indicates that a new era of employment has begun. Bursa Eskişehir Bilecik Development Agency (BEBKA), operating under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, is preparing to establish an online, free platform containing 19 technology and entrepreneurship-related training courses in the field of AR/VR/XR through the project named Metaverse Academy.
With a total budget of 1.33 million euros, the project will last 36 months. The opening meeting of the project was hosted by BEBKA. The opening speech of the two-day event was delivered by BEBKA Acting Secretary General Sabri Bayram.
Speaking at the kick-off meeting of the Metaverse Academy project, BEBKA Acting Secretary General Sabri Bayram provided information about the project. He stated that the project, which offers better learning methods using technology, is being carried out within the scope of the Online Open Learning Platform. Bayram said, “Together, we have undertaken the mission of leveraging the power of future technologies to create a revolution in education, and I have no doubt that our collective efforts will lead to significant achievements and open the door to other potential projects in the future. When talking about our project, I want to draw your attention to the importance of collaboration and open communication. Each of us brings unique perspectives and expertise to the table. We will only achieve our common goals through the synergy of our collective efforts.”
Bayram emphasized the importance of the project, which was created to enable young people and industrialists in the region and the country to be competitive in these technologies and to create both employment and business opportunities in these sectors. He stated, “Our agency, together with project partners, has designed a project focused on vocational training, entrepreneurship, and industry, and this project includes a total of 12 partners from seven European Union countries and South Africa. With the project, our young people, especially in Turkey, will gain competencies in the technologies of the future and will be able to demonstrate successful examples of entrepreneurship along with qualified employment in these areas.”
Concluding his speech, Sabri Bayram expressed his gratitude to the European Union for their support of the project.
